How should we celebrate Clarington’s MVPs? You decide!
Clarington is full of MVPs—from volunteer superstars and sports legends to community champions—but how should we recognize them?
In the past, we’ve celebrated these contributions through separate events, including:
- Clarington Sports Hall of Fame: A formal evening recognizing outstanding athletes, coaches and sports teams.
- Celebrate Sport: A fun, family-friendly event celebrating local sports and recreation.
- Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon: An afternoon tea honouring the contributions of dedicated volunteers.
- Recognition at Council Meetings: A moment during Council Meetings where recipients receive certificates for outstanding achievements.
Now we’re considering bringing everyone together for one epic celebration—and we need your input!
✅ What type of recognition is most meaningful to you?
✅ Would you prefer one combined event, or do separate events work best?
✅ How can we make these celebrations more meaningful?

For 2025 I think an outdoor event on Canada Day in appreciation of all Canadians, including our our special MVP’s would be very appropriate!

Clarington Sports Hall of Fame needs to continue.
Other Community volunteers/MVP's also need to be recognized but in a separate event.

Have 2-tier approach:
1) certificates for all, then
2) public reception OR theatre/sports/etc. tickets for those who don't want publicity

For sports/family, an epic competition could be cool! Think Four Nations/Tough Mudder. Get to do what they love + MVP bragging rights
