Following public consultation in July 2026, Council directed staff to cancel the planned construction of a previously approved off-leash dog park at Guildwood Park, citing concerns raised by the local community. Staff have direction from Council to pursue a dog park in north Bowmanville when an appropriately sized property becomes available as the area is developed in the future.
A refreshed splash pad is coming to Guildwood Park, located at 180 Guildwood Drive in north Bowmanville, with construction planned for fall 2026.
The community has spoken! Thank you to everyone who voted on the splash pad colours. The winning choice was a vibrant blue and green colour scheme, which will bring a fresh, playful look to the new splash pad and help shape the final design.
