      FAQ

      • Why is the Municipality conducting a Citizen Satisfaction Survey?
      • Many local governments, across Canada and the world, conduct annual or bi-annual citizen satisfaction surveys to gather input from residents about service delivery and operations, quality of life, customer service and more. The information collected provides important data to help municipalities measure their performance.

The Municipality of Clarington last conducted a citizen satisfaction survey in 2016.

Clarington values the feedback and opinions of its residents. This survey will provide baseline data to help us better understand residents’ overall level of satisfaction and perceived importance of Municipal programs and services, and the overall quality of life in Clarington as compared to other municipalities. This will help the Municipality evaluate and improve programs and services, and inform strategic decision-making and priority-setting based on public feedback.

      • Who is conducting the survey?
      • Clarington’s 2025 Citizen Satisfaction Survey is being conducted as part of a student academic research project for McMaster University’s Master of Communications Management program, under the supervision of faculty.

The researcher, and the Municipality of Clarington, acknowledge the limitations on statistical confidence of this survey being conducted in-house and not by a third-party research firm.

      • How is the survey being administered?
      • The Clarington Citizen Satisfaction Survey will be open online from April 22 to May 12, 2025, at www.claringtonconnected.ca.

You can also visit a local Clarington recreation centre or Town Hall to complete the survey on an iPad kiosk. If you would prefer to conduct the survey in an alternate format, please contact communications@clarington.net or call 905-623-3379 ext. 2019.
