Clarington is building a new neighbourhood park in Newcastle!

Belmont Park, located at 155 Belmont Drive, will include a multi-skills court for basketball and ball hockey, a playground, walking paths, shade structure, seating, open space and more.

The site is also adjacent to the historic Belmont House heritage property, which will be celebrated throughout the park’s design through interpretive features.

The park playground design has been chosen - by you! Thank you to everyone who voted on the playground’s features, equipment style and colour palette. The following features will be incorporated into the park's design to be enjoyed by the community for years to come.

What you told us:

• The top three voted features were:
  • Slides: there will be four slides total with three varying heights.
  • Swings: there will be two sets of swings featuring three adult, two infant, one accessible and one saucer.
  • Shade: a shade structure will be placed near the picnic table area.
• Earth tones and a nature theme were rated highest, so the play structure will have colours of green, yellow and brown throughout, along with treehouse-style features.
